Weight Loss Surgery

Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For You?

As the social pressure to be thin continues to rise and obesity-related illnesses skyrocket, the search for the fastest way to lose weight is growing in epic proportions. As a result, people are beginning to view weight loss surgery as an instant, easy solution to their weight loss woes. However, these procedures are not appropriate for most people, nor are they simple and quick.

There are two main types of weight loss surgery, and several variations within the two categories. The first type is restrictive surgery and the second type is malabsorptive surgery. Throughout the following paragraphs, we are going to explore the variations of these two different types of surgery and discuss the pros and cons of each.

Restrictive Weight Loss Surgery

Restrictive weight loss surgery involves reducing the size of the stomach either temporarily or permanently so that you are forced to eat less and therefore consume fewer calories. This method also slows down digestion because the band that is used slows down the rate at which the food leaves the stomach. There are several types of procedures, some more invasive than others, that utilize the restrictive method.

Adjustable gastric banding is probably the least invasive weight loss surgery and utilized an inflatable band that is wrapped around your stomach to divide it into two portions, a small upper pouch and a larger lower pouch. The two portions are still connected but the  upper portion drastically reduces the amount of food that you consume and the food empties more slowly into the lower pouch. Since the band leaves only a small channel between the upper and lower pouches, food must be soft and chewed thoroughly so that it doesn’t get lodged.

Vertical banded gastroplasty also divides your stomach into two separate parts but this procedure uses both a band and staples. Because vertical banding hasn’t had the success rate that adjustable gastric banding has had, it isn’t as popular and is used much less often now that there are more effective options available.

Perhaps the main advantage to gastric banding is that it’s not as invasive as malabsorptive surgery. The surgery is often performed using minimally invasive, small incisions, small surgical tools and a small camera called a laparoscope to insert the band. After the band is in place, the doctor fills it with saline using a needle. Because the band is inserted very near the surface of the skin, it’s easy for your doctor to adjust the band by either adding or removing saline to change the size of the channel between the upper and lower portions of the stomach.

Since gastric banding isn’t necessarily meant to be permanent, many people only control their eating habits because the band physically only allows them to eat small amounts. People who do not make permanent, healthy adjustments to their diets may not experience long-term success with this procedure. Some risks of restrictive weight loss surgery include vomiting from eating too quickly and sometimes there are complications with the band such as slipping or leaking.

A sleeve gastrectomy is a newer form of restrictive surgery and involves removing about 75 percent of the stomach using a laparoscope. The remainder of the stomach is simply a sleeve that is attached to your intestines. This procedure is often used as a first step toward malabsorptive surgery for people who are extremely obese or aren’t healthy enough to undergo the more invasive surgery. For some people, though, this surgery is enough to produce the desired weight loss. The advantage to the sleeve gastrectomy is that the intestines aren’t affected so nutritional absorption isn’t affected.

Malabsorptive Weight Loss Surgery

Gastric bypass surgery (Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass) is the most common type of weight loss surgery and involves a combination of malabsorptive and restrictive procedures.  Your stomach is divided into two portions and the upper portion is connected to the lower section of the small intestine, thus decreasing the size of the stomach and shortening the time that food remains in the digestive tract. This effectively decreases calorie absorption. A more drastic form of this is called biliopancreatic diversion and involves bypassing even more of your small intestine.

Gastric bypass has swift, drastic results and people that have obesity-related illnesses such as sleep apnea and diabetes will often experience rapid improvement. Much of the weight loss will occur in the first six months following the surgery and will continue for up to two years. Because the digestive tract is modified, nutritional deficiencies may occur and cause long-term issues such as anemia and osteoporosis. If you have this surgery, you will need to take supplements for the rest of your life in order to ensure that you are getting the nutrients that you need.

There is a condition called dumping syndrome that is related to gastric bypass surgery and is the result of food passing too quickly into the intestines before it’s been properly digested. This results in diarrhea, bloating, cramps, nausea and sweating and is frequently the result of eating foods high in carbohydrates. Unlike banding surgery, gastric bypass is almost always permanent so weight loss tends to be maintained but you will have to make life-long, drastic adjustments to your eating habits.  Additional risks of weight loss surgery include infection from the procedure, gallstones, and large pockets of loose skin that require surgical removal.

Is Weight Loss Surgery For You?

Doctors won’t generally consider you for any weight loss surgery unless you have a body mass index (BMI) over 40. This equates to being about 100 pounds overweight for the average man and about 80 pounds overweight for the average woman. In 2011, the FDA approved the use of laparoscopic banding for those with a BMI of 30 or greater who also have at least one obesity-related health condition such as diabetes.

The idea of jumping on an operating table and solving all of your weight loss woes may seem to be a dream come true, but is it a good option for you? Not unless you have exhausted all other options and your weight has become such an issue that you are at risk of terminal illness or death. Unless your life is at stake, you’ll be much better off grabbing some celery and stepping onto the treadmill.

Weight Loss Products

Which Weigh Loss Products Really Work?

Every time that you turn on the television or walk through the supermarket, you are assaulted by a huge number of products that promise a slimmer, healthier you. Our society has trained us to think that if we can pinch an inch, we need to pop a pill or drink a shake in order to get skinny. The problem is, many of the products available don’t deliver what they promise and some of them are even bad for you. So how do you tell the fat-blasters from the wallet-busters? You need to educate yourself.

There are weight loss products available in pills, bars, shakes and patches. Some claim to be “100 percent natural” while others claim to be “scientifically formulated.” Some even claim to prevent cancer or diabetes while helping you lose weight. The answer won’t be found by reading the claims; instead you need to look at the ingredients. By doing this, you can learn to distinguish what might be effective and what will be a potentially dangerous waste of money.

Weight Loss Pills

Probably the most prevalent weight loss products available are weight loss pills. These come in many different packages but most can be separated into two basic categories: appetite suppressants and fat blockers. Some of them are fine and may even be helpful, but many are useless or even dangerous. This is why it’s so important to pay attention to ingredients instead of the claims made on the box.

Many appetite suppressants such as synephedrine and ma huang (also known as ephedra) are amphetamine-like stimulants that may cause heart attacks, strokes or seizures. Ephedra was banned by the FDA in 2004 but ma huang (the Chinese name for ephedra) may still be found in the “proprietary blend” of many weight loss products. Appetite suppressants such as Hoodia work in different ways and may be safe for use though there’s not enough scientific evidence yet to prove that definitively.

Weight loss pills that claim to block fat contain such ingredients as Xenical, Chitosan and guar gum. These ingredients have varying degrees of effectiveness and are frequently accompanied by undesirable side-effects such as gas, bloating, diarrhea and cramps. Often, these symptoms can be alleviated by eating a low-fat diet and if you read the box, most of these weight loss products suggest exactly that. Unfortunately, many people think that they can take fat blockers, eat anything they want, and still lose weight. This simply isn’t the case.

Weight Loss Shakes

Weight Loss Shakes are typically used as a replacement for one or more regular meals and have been around for many years. Shakes such as Slim-Fast claim that you will lose weight by replacing breakfast and lunch with shakes and then eating a healthy dinner. Weight loss is simple math; you lose weight when you burn more calories than you consume. As long as you would typically eat a breakfast and lunch containing more calories than a meal replacement shake, you will probably lose weight by using this product.

There are two things that you need to look at when considering meal replacements shakes; the first is the amount of calories and fat and the second is the nutritional value. Also remember that our bodies derive nutrition best from natural foods, so just because a product may have 100 percent of the recommended daily allowance of something doesn’t mean that your body is going to be able to use it. Also, since the shake is liquid, your body will process it faster and you will be hungry again sooner.  These weight loss products aren’t generally bad for you unless you are on a low-carbohydrate diet. They do typically contain sugar but some now offer sugar-free varieties as well.

Weight Loss Bars

There are two basic types of weight loss bars; ones that are used as meal replacements or snacks and new ones that are consumed 30 minutes prior to a regular meal in order to make you feel full and thus consume less food. Standard meal replacement bars are used in much the same way that the shakes are. When considering using these types of weight loss products, look for ones that have higher protein and fiber contents because you will feel full longer than if you eat one that is mostly sugar.

The second type of meal replacement bar is relatively new to the weight loss scene. An example is the Fullbar. According to product labeling, you will eat less food, and therefore consume less calories, if you eat a bar along with 16 ounces of water 30 minutes before meals. The product also cautions you to pay attention to how full you are so that you don’t overeat.  Even without the bar, drinking water before meals and eating only until you’re full are good diet tips, and the product lays no claim to containing any fat burners or appetite suppressants.

Weight Loss Patches

Weight loss patches are a relatively new addition to the wide world of weight loss products and manufacturers claim that the patch helps you lose weight faster because the ingredients bypass your digestive system and are absorbed straight into your bloodstream through your skin. Weight loss patches contain the same appetite-suppressing ingredients found in weight loss pills; the method of delivery is just different.

Side-effects reported include nausea, vomiting, skin irritation and skin discoloration and preliminary studies suggest that even if the patch works, it won’t work as well on people who are overweight because the ingredients have to be absorbed into the fatty tissue before making their way into the bloodstream. Because the patches haven’t been around very long, research on efficacy and safety is limited.

The Final Word on Weight Loss Products

Now that you have a general feel for what types of weight loss products are available, you should educate yourself on the ingredients of products that you are considering. Remember that just because a product is “all-natural” doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s good for you; ephedra is a natural product and it was pulled from the market because it caused seizures, strokes, heart attacks and deaths. There are good weight loss products out there but before you put anything into your body, take the time to separate the good from the bad and make an informed decision.

How to Make Iced Green Tea

Iced green tea is a refreshing, healthy, calorie-free beverage. Before exploring how to make iced green tea, let’s take a look at the tea itself.

Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea, but unlike black tea, green tea is not oxidized. Because it is not oxidized or fermented green tea has a lighter taste and more beneficial chemicals than black tea. Green tea has a clean taste, described sometimes as fresh, light, green, or grassy.  Some types of green tea are slightly sweet and some are slightly astringent.  Green tea has about half as much caffeine as black tea and about one-quarter as much as coffee. There are many different types of green tea, and green tea is often mixed with fruits or spices.

Varieties of Green Tea for Icing

Green teas range from delicate to robust. Delicate flavors may be lost in iced tea, so moderately stronger varieties are usually preferred for icing. Because all green teas, even the stronger ones, are less hardy than black tea, it is better to prepare them with cooler water. Whether you use teabags or loose tea, pour the water when it just starts to boil rather than waiting for a full, rolling boil.

Here are a few of the varieties of green tea that make great iced tea.

  • Chinese Gunpowder Green Tea is a moderately robust blend of old and new leaves. It becomes bitter if brewed too long.
  • Dragon Well is the most popular Chinese green tea. It is aromatic with a full-bodied flavor.
  • Williamson Kenya Green is a light and refreshing green tea from Kenya.
  • Sencha is the most common Japanese green tea.
  • Xianju Rain Forest Green is a fresh and light tea from China.

How to Make Iced Green Tea

Recipes for iced green tea range from very simple to quite complex. Here is the simplest recipe: Steep green tea in half the water and pour it over ice. Now let’s look at other iced green tea recipes.

– Iced Green Tea from Teabags

For a single serving put one or two teabags (to taste) in a cup. Pour hot water over the teabags and steep for three-to-five        minutes. Take the teabag out. Let the tea cool (at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Then pour the tea into a tall        glass full of ice. To make a quart pitcher of iced tea, put four-to- eight teabags in the pitcher and proceed as above.

-Iced Green Tea from Loose Leaf Tea

Prepare tea according to the directions for the variety you are using. You can use the recommended amount leaves, or you can double that amount for a stronger iced tea. After steeping, remove the leaves and let the tea cool at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Pour the tea over a glass of ice. Add flavoring or garnishes such as lemon wedges or mint leaves to taste.

– Sweetened and Flavored Iced Green Tea

While green tea is traditionally served without sweetener, everyone’s taste is different, so you might like this recipe.

Pour hot water over four bags of green tea. Let the tea seep for three-to-four minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool.   Next, pour the tea into a pitcher and add up to four teaspoons, sugar, honey, or artificial sweetener to taste. Add three teaspoons of lemon juice. Pour the mix over two cups of cold water and put in the refrigerator to chill before serving.

-Traditional Chinese Iced Green Tea

Some traditions steer away from brewing green tea in hot water and then cooling it because cooling in the open air causes oxidation, which can diminish the anti-oxidant qualities of the tea.  Here is a no-boil method:

Put two-to-three tablespoons of green tea leaves in a gallon bottle   of drinking water. Cool the bottle for an hour or two in the refrigerator. The tea is ready to drink when it turns a gold color. When you have used two-thirds of the tea you can add more water. You can do this two or three times before the tea loses its gentle flavor.

-Iced Green Tea from the Sun

This recipe may not be traditional, but you can make excellent  iced green tea using the heat of the sun. Follow the traditional recipe above, but instead of putting the bottle in the refrigerator, put it outside in the sun. Pour over ice cubes. For an elegant touch, serve the tea in a tall, clear glass and garnish it with mint leaves.

Why Iced Green Tea is a Healthy Drink

Eastern cultures have used green tea for its medicinal qualities for centuries. Chinese and Indian practitioners used green tea to improve the health of the heart, to stop bleeding and heal wounds, and to promote urination. Green tea has also been used to regulate body temperature, promote digestion and reduce gas, improve mental alertness, and regulate blood sugar levels.

While the health benefits of green tea remain controversial in the United States, many studies find that it has a high concentration of potent anti-oxidants (called polyphenols) that probably contribute to cardiovascular and neurological health. Green tea may aid in boosting the immune system and may help maintain a healthy blood sugar level. It may help protect against cancer by destroying free radicals and against heart disease by lowering cholesterol. Because green tea may increase calorie burning, it is included in many weight loss diets.

Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has found no conclusive evidence for the cardiovascular benefits of green tea, Dr. Andrew Weil, well-known natural health physician states, “I believe that the health benefits – cardiovascular and otherwise – of green tea will eventually be established beyond all doubt.”

Healthy and Delicious Refreshment

When you know how to make iced green tea you can prepare a delicious and healthy gourmet refreshment for your friends and family.

It is just because there are many benefits that can we get. One other reason is it can counter free radicals which cause damage to the skin.

Recently the free radical seems to be particular thing around us. In a day when we are do some activity our skin get open air exposure. It is a lot of pollutant, cigarette smokes or sun light. That’s all can damage the skin moist.

People decide to maintain the skin with topical vitamin C benefits for skin. It has proven and effective for treatment the skin problems. This substance can support the collagen. It is works with elastin to support the skin. We can say it to provide firmness, form, and skin strength. It can reduce the sunburned cells.

One thing to remember of using liquid vitamin C for skin, it must be careful to choose and handle it products. It is about the oxidation tendency of vitamin C that consists at product. Avoid contacting with any oxidizing agent, such as air.

The other way to solve the oxidation tendency

There is by using vitamin C derivative to this case. There are ascorbic palmitate and magnesium ascorbic phosphate. These two ingredients have more stability against to oxidation tendency.

Induction Phase Rules Of The Atkins Diet

Induction phase of the Atkins diet is one of the most important as a stepping stone to successful weight loss. Beside extensive lists of foods that can you eat when you do this diet. There are some important rules to follow for some period. We refer to this as the Atkins diet food phase 1 and for reference I have written here.

The simple thing diet with the Atkins foods.

The simplest thing during the induction phase of the Atkins diet is; you should eat three regular-sized meals per day or four to five times smaller. Then when you feel you cannot hold your appetite between meals. Try to take in smaller portions with interval shorter time. It has the purpose to prevent the carbohydrates. But you are still getting the intake of the protein and vegetables to you eat. You are should consume vegetables more often to do this diet.

Atkins Diet is not the type of diet that limits calories to your body.

This diet allows you to choose freely the food is on the list of acceptable foods. So do not be afraid to eat fat and protein, but do not overdo it. The only thing you have to think about it is the level of grams of carbohydrates in your foods. Try to count the grams of carbohydrates from the vegetables that you consume to this diet. Due you can only take 12 -15 grams of carbohydrates from your vegetable list.

Although many types of food should you eat in the induction phase of the diet. But you are should avoid the fruits, whole grains and starchy vegetables such as cauliflower or the like. This is only the beginning of a period of just a journey from pre-treatment and you also have to avoid bread for a while.

We are know about the nuts have a high protein. But this food also includes lot of carbohydrate so you should avoid these during the induction phase diet. You should limit yourself to consume whole grains because they have high fiber and carbohydrates. For the sake of your weight loss plan you will be wise if you can resist eating it. Therefore in this diet requires you to 8 eight ounce glasses of water.

Remember to always adjust the quantity of food is acceptable according to your taste. At the beginning of the induction phase; you might tend to eat more than at the end of the phase. That led to all of this because you’re craving for sugar and carbohydrates that you consume before you doing this diet. And it will continue to make you feel hungry throughout the day.

Note when we in induction phase

It would be better if you are careful and always read the labels on food products you buy.

Look for one that does not contain carbohydrates. But even though there are notes non carbohydrates in the food products label. It must be not absolutely free of the carbs. Because, if the carbohydrates contained in food products have less than 5 grams of the law is still enable manufacturers to write zero in the label.

Be aware of your food when eating out, which may contain of the hidden carbohydrates in your meal. In the induction phase of the Atkins diet. We allow eating meat. But eat as much as possible without sauces and salad dressings that it contains a number of carbohydrates. To be more comfortable for this diet you can switch it with the olive oil and vinegar dressing.

Keep survive by eating a diet in the list is unlimited, then you will remain safe. Keep all these guidelines in mind when starting the induction phase. You will set yourself up for long term success in order to weight loss with the Atkins diet.

The Digest Diet Food List Must You Avoid

The digest diet should you do if you experience stomach problems, when you are doing weight loss program. By doing this diet you will be easier to digest the food which of course is present in the specified list.

Actually the digest diet is not very difficult if you to do attention to exactly. What you should avoid in your diet. You do not have to total avoid it because we can still work around this by cooking pattern or the way we consume this food.

I cannot deny that I really like meat.

The most important first while undergo the digest diet. As much as possible you should avoid meat. As we know, the meat was the most difficult for us to digest. So if you still have to eat meat, make more streamlined pieces that we do not trouble to digest.

I am very careful with the fat in the meat. So I prefer to fish sautéed in extra virgin olive oil. What should you remember if you take too much can still be harsh on the stomach; so I can be say that olive oil is not good if you to do this diet.

You can feel when you are chew and swallow bread.

The second is the bread, the bread of the texture and the ingredient is one of the easiest foods to digest. Judging from ingredient dough is soft but it is not good to eat when we go on the digest diet.

But the bread can turn into a hard ball in our stomach. The major problem posed by the bread is that it has no digestive enzymes like other foods. For example, as raw vegetables, it is has natural enzymes contained therein.

NOTE: If you have gluten intolerance; by eating the bread that you can actually become the enemy of your digestive system. So try do not taking it for a while and see if your stomach feels better as a result.

The problem is that milk contains the lactose.

The third one you also have to be careful with milk products. We need five hours to digest cheese. Could be interpreted that contained in the milk products such as cheese are foods that are difficult for our stomachs to digest it.

Lactose is the milk sugar that present in all natural milk; and most people cannot tolerate it. You will see the impact this when you get older age. If the days of your youth consume lots of ice cream that contains lactose then you would pay at a time when older.

Next is nuts, these foods are also extremely difficult to digest. Peanuts are one of the most difficult foods for our stomach to digest it. Because it takes a certain type of enzymes to break them down and most people do not have a lot of this enzyme to work.

If you have to eat beans, start with small amounts and gradually work up to larger portions over a period of time. Or you can grind the beans in a blender first. If not, you feel sick in the stomach. I have reduced the nuts in my menu in the past year. And have noticed that my digestion is much better than I use, because I have been successful with the diet digest.

Calories – Weightloss Diet and Exercise

Calories Burned

At rest, burning an adult approximately 1500 kcal / day. When activity increases calorie burning at about 2000 – 3000 kcal / day. If you burn more calories than your body’s weight loss occurs. If instead you get yourself in more calories than your body burns leads to weight gain. This is an old and well-accepted theory.
An adult needs about 1500 kcal per day for the body to function. The physical activity increases calorie burning, which means that an active person needs more energy than a sedentary. When the body burns more energy than it takes in resulting weight loss. If the body rather than have more energy than it does of as we go up in weight. Thus, we can control our own body weight by balancing energy intake and calorie expenditure.

Burn calories

The body constantly burns calories when it needs energy to sustain breathing, digestion and other processes in the body. In addition to the energy needed to just stay alive makes the body with extra energy when we move. If we want to spend many calories to lose weight, it is a good idea to exercise. But we must not pursue advanced sports to use up calories, all activities of daily burn extra energy.
The calories that we consume, but which the body does not burn off stored as fat in the body. If energy intake since the decrease or the physical activity increases as the body takes energy from the stored fat and we lose weight.
Table of how much energy the body to discharge during physical activity can be found here.

Empty calories

Everything that we eat provides energy in different amounts. But that’s not enough to just count the number of calories to eat healthy. For example, three or four Danish pastry a day to fill the daily requirement of energy for a sedentary person. But these pastries will not give your body the nutrients it needs. Soft drinks, candy, snacks and other sweets that are high in sugar and almost no vitamins and minerals is referred to as “empty calories”. For a large proportion of empty calories and little nutrition can eventually give us diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

The right kind of calories

A healthy and varied diet provides the essential nutrients we need to function. Healthy food not only makes us look better on the outside but also affect the inside. The body’s organs depend on nutritious food and healthy food gives the body a better immune system making us more alert and healthier. Although our mood, our learning ability and performance is affected by what we eat.

How many calories we should eat depends on age, sex, body size, physical activity and if we want to gain or lose weight. A guideline is that women should eat about 2000 calories a day and men 2500-3000 calories.

According to the NFA, we should eat three meals a day and feel free to snack in between. The food we eat should consist of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Carbohydrates constitute the largest energy intake and fat in the least. The “plate model” as NFA advocates is the plate divided into five parts, two parts are filled with carbohydrates such as potatoes, rice, pasta etc, two parts are filled with vegetables and fruits and the fifth installment are filled with proteins such as meat or fish.

In recent years there has arisen a variety of diets and dietary guidelines that differ from the plate model.

Carbohydrates are a group of sugars found in many different forms. Often we talk about slow and fast carbs. For the slow carbohydrates include, for example, brown bread, wholemeal pasta and beans. These products break down slowly in the body and keeps us satisfied longer.

Fast carbohydrates, like sweets, soft drinks and white bread, is rapidly degraded in digestion and gives a high blood sugar. The elevated blood sugar leads to insulin surcharge increases which means that we will soon get hungry again.

Glycemic Index, GI, is a measure of how quickly carbohydrates are digested and how they affect blood sugar. Eating as GI is a common way of trying to lose weight.

Proteins are essential components in the body and part of the body’s tissue cells. Meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and beans contain protein. Proteins are made up of amino acids and because the body can not form all of these amino acids itself, it is important to take in from food. Adults should eat about 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. By multiplying their body weight by 0.8, we develop a recommendation on a total protein intake per day. Those who train hard may need to eat extra protein as muscle is built up of protein.

Fats are available in several different varieties, we usually call them as saturated fat, monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat. Sometimes we are also talking about trans fats, it is a fat that is formed in food production when liquid oils are hardened. Trans fats and saturated fats is said to be harmful to the body when they build up cholesterol in the blood that can lead to diseases.

Saturated fat found in dairy products, fatty meat products, chocolate, and in many baked goods. Monounsaturated fats are found for example in olive oil, almonds, nuts and avocados. Polyunsaturated fats with healthy subjects omega-3 and omega-6 found in oily fish such as salmon and mackerel, in canola oil and flaxseed.

Fats contain about twice as many calories per gram as carbohydrates and proteins and therefore gives fat products a lot of energy in relation to mass. The body needs fats, however, so even those attempting to lose weight need to eat a small amount of fat.

Suboxone Detoxification Ineffectiveness

Suboxone is a semi-synthetic opioid mixed from 4:1 ratio of Buprenorphine and Nalaxone.  As a medication Suboxone is used in two different ways.  Its primary use is in treating drug addiction, specifically for detoxification.  Its secondary use is as a pain medication.  Doctors use it at high dosages to treat moderate levels of pain.

Dangers of Suboxone

As far as opioids go, Suboxone is one of the more harmful among them.  It has a highly addictive nature, making it an ineffective medication for drug detoxification.  While it might get rid of the addiction you have, it gives you another potentially more harmful one to deal with.

Suboxone remains in your system for at least three weeks.  What’s worse is the withdrawal effects can last as long as six months.  For anyone who has experienced the withdrawal effects of trying to quit taking any drug, six months is a long, long time.  And as for the actual withdrawal effects for Suboxone, just look at the laundry list of them that people who want to quit have to deal with:

Drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, constipation, headache, nausea, or vomiting, slow, shallow breathing, mental and mood changes, depression, stomach/abdominal pain, dark urine, yellowing eyes and skin, vision changes. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

You can see how horrible this is.  So why is it that this is one of the more common drug detox methods use in the US when it doesn’t even work?  The answer is as big a mystery as the Bermuda Triangle.

But there is an alternative treatment for drug addiction, one that is far more successful.

Ibogaine, a Better Alternative for Drug Addiction Treatment than Suboxone

Ibogaine offers a way to treat drug addiction like no other medication currently used by the US.  In less than forty-eight hours it can rid you of your addiction without making you dependent on another drug like Suboxone and also making you withdrawal free.  It has the highest average success rate of any drug detox treatment at 70%.

Insomnia Cures

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that can be experienced by people of all ages, especially among the old folks. The major indication that someone is suffering from it is the difficulty experienced in sleeping. People suffering from insomnia are consciously awake at night and its difficult for them to be asleep once again when disturbed or disrupted. It is a fact that people who worry a lot and those who experience great depressions are typically the ones who suffer from this disorder.

The effects are obviously manifested for they are very irritable and they easily get angry without any acceptable reasons.

They tend to exhibit lethargic behaviour, are slow, their mental state shows evidence of  ongoing deterioration and they often experience insomnia dizziness. They also cannot concentrate on things for very long and they can appear quite scatterbrained much of the time. The eyes can start to feel dry or strained and getting the motivation to get up and do anything may be difficult.

Health experts have categorized insomnia in these ways according to the symptoms felt by the patient:
• Transient insomnia – The symptoms could last for a number of nights.
• Short- term insomnia – The indicators can be experienced from 2 weeks onwards.
• Chronic insomnia – The symptoms are long-lasting, generally more than 3 weeks.
• Primary insomnia The symptoms are seen in sleeping difficulty, disruption of sleep and feeling too tired.
• Secondary insomnia – The major reason for this type are primary medical conditions like depression.

To successfully cure insomnia, the patient should coordinate well with the physician by describing and discussing every symptom felt so as to give an accurate diagnosis and cure. It is then the task of the physician to make sure that the symptoms are not caused by other sleep disorders or just mere side effects of any medication the patient is taking. Depression or Illness?

When I reached my early forties I started getting very irritable and it seemed like everyday was blue no matter what was happening.  It got to the point I had to ask myself am I clinically depressed.  Because  I am a woman and also because of my age I knew I had to go the doctor and get my hormone levels checked.  Good thing I did because it turned out my thyroid levels were way out of balance and I had a disease called Hashimoto.  This is when your immune system attacks your thyroid gland until it is all gone.  Well, I was happy I had an answer to my depression and I was not clinically depressed, but I was not happy with my diagnosis. I knew that once  you get one autoimmune disease it was very easy to get more.   It was time I cleaned up my act and got healthy.

The first think I did was find a naturopathic MD.  He put me on Nature Thyroid which is better and more natural for your body then synthetic thyroid pills that are full of aluminum. (yes, its true!)  We then proceeded to start cleansing my body because usually only a toxic body develops an autoimmune disease.  The first cleanse I went on was a candida and parasite cleanse.  This consisted of  a very strict diet eliminating all yeast, white flour, dairy, sugar and artificial sugars.  What did I eat?  Mainly vegetables and lean protein sans the beef or pork.  I also discovered that I was allergic to gluten.  With this cleanse I did a bowel cleanse and took anti fungal and anti candida supplements to clear out the bad yeast and parasites.3 months later I felt incredibly better and my thyroid antibodies were way down.  This was a tough task but what helped my get though the hard times were inspiring meaningful quotes that I carried around with me in my purse along with pictures of my young children.  I knew that in order to be a grandmother for their children one day I had to do this.  And the best part is I lost 25lbs along the way!
