Work by the whole team, led by Stacy Carter
This project arose from an early observation: people use the same evidence base to make very different, sometimes conflicting, arguments about cancer screening.
We have analysed the nature of the evidence base on breast, cervical and prostate screening to determine what tensions might exist in the evidence. You can read about our conclusions regarding what might underlie the disagreements in interpretation of the evidence base in the following publication:
Carter SM, Williams J, Parker L, Pickles K, Jacklyn G, Rychetnik L, Barratt A. Screening for cervical, prostate and breast cancer: how should the evidence be interpreted? American Journal of Preventive Medicine 2015; 49(2),274-85.
